Fusion Art Collection

Fusion is a collection that celebrates the connection between nature and artistic expression. Have you ever come across the perfect blossom, the kind that makes you stop and take it in? I have, those moments when nature catches you off guard with its quiet beauty. This collection is my way of preserving those moments, an attempt to recreate the perfect blooms I’ve photographed over time. Every painting reflects not just the plant, but the story it tells, like my Figs Life painting, inspired by the fig tree in my backyard.

Watching that tree wake up each spring feels like witnessing something slow and meaningful. Its thin branches stretch out, sprouting lush blue-green leaves. Then, just when you think it’s reached its peak, it surprises you with fruit. And not just any fruit, figs that are as delicious as they are generous. This tree has become a magnet for the neighborhood. Friends stop by, ring the doorbell, and ask if they can pick a few figs to take home. It’s not just a tree anymore; it’s part of the community.

Other flowers have their own stories, too. Zinnias, for example, are some of my favorites. They stand tall, their bold pinks and purples almost demanding attention as they sway with the breeze. There’s something proud about them; the way their bright petals stand out against the deep greens around them makes them a joy to paint.

And then there are the regal daisies, the simple yet elegant flowers that seem to embody grace in every petal. These blooms are perfect for all occasions, bringing a touch of cheer and sophistication. Their timeless beauty reminds us that elegance doesn’t always have to be extravagant; sometimes, it’s found in the most straightforward forms.

I don’t just copy what I see in these paintings. I let the story evolve as I work, like the tall reeds in my zinnia painting, standing like quiet guardians around the flowers. These little touches blend imagination with reality, letting the painting take on a life of its own.

These paintings come to life through oil paints, especially with Sennelier’s rich pigments. I create with what I call “line-isms,” using strong strokes from my brush or palette knife to convey what I see and feel when I look at a flower or plant. In many ways, these lines evoke the art nouveau style, reminiscent of the decorative elegance of artists like Alphonse Mucha. Every line is a story, bringing familiar elements to life in a new way.

Fusion isn’t just about plants or flowers. It’s about finding joy in those small, quiet moments that nature offers us if we slow down enough to notice.

Moving forward,

my husband retired, and we took a leap and moved to southern Delaware. Now, he finds joy in fishing while I embrace the opportunity to focus on my art full-time, a dream that has long resided in my heart. Each day spent creating feels like a real gift, and I've longed for this opportunity for as long as I can remember.

One of the most meaningful ways I share my work is by giving away free prints. This gesture allows me to help others feel, see, and enjoy my paintings as I do. Each piece I create tells a story, and sharing those stories fills me with joy. When you hold one of my prints, it signifies that my art has reached you. Perhaps it will spark a conversation when someone asks about that beautiful piece; fostering connection and wonder.

For me, art is all about connection. My deepest hope is that my work resonates with people, offering moments of meaning and reflection in their lives. The more hands my art touches, the more hearts I hope to reach. This journey is not just about creating art; it’s about nurturing connections that truly matter, allowing us to share in the beauty of our experiences together.
